I think I figured out why...

I think I figured out why blogging can be so addicting. Here I am, at home, 4:00 in the afternoon, procrastinating starting dinner, and wishing I had an adult to talk to.... but wait!! No need to wish!! I can simply blog every little random thought on my mind, and some poor helpless soul will have to put up with my bantering online!! Blogging= pure geniousness obvioulsy invented by a stay at home mother.

So here's what's on my mind:

On Monday, my wonderful older brother and his adorable little family came to visit. They were driving through on their way home to Ohio, and were able to stop and spend the night with us. I. Loved. It. I can't explain it,  but it seems to be just a little piece of heaven when you're with family. It's quite funny, too, because growing up, I was never particularly close with Jon, and I haven't spent incredible amounts of time with him since being married, but having them here was so pleasant, and completely unawkward. That's what I love about family. You can go for months without really talking, then you get together, and you have tons to talk about.

This is a horrible picture, but you can see Jon eating a cupcake, and his two kids Lexy and Josh licking frosting (I had to bribe them into thinking I was a fun aunt).

About 45 minutes after Jon and Natalie hit the road, it began to snow. A LOT. It really started to pick up in the evening, and I would have to say that since that one really bad Nebraska storm, it was one of the worst I've seen. I know I'm being highly dramatic, but I cut my finger and got stuck in the parking lot.... so yes... I'm being dramatic about last night's storm. It's melted a whole lot today, but last night made me eternally grateful that our heat is included in our rent.

My kids are being ultra cute today, which makes my day increbildy pleasant. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, there's daycare provided at the gym in the mornings, and so Riley will go and play while I work out, and Brecker sleeps in his carseat. Ussually, Riley screams when I drop him off, except for the last two times. This morning, he ran to the door and said, "Play with friend!! (he loves the little girl who does the daycare) Bye, mom, love ya. See ya!!" and took off. It was heavenly.

He voted. =) Whenever he gets a sticker, it always goes either on his tummy or his forehead.

I love his look here-- it's his genuinely happy look. We'd just been dancing around the kitchen (one of his favorite games) and he was just purely joyful. Love that kid!!

Cute boys after church. We all had just woken up from a Sunday nap, and someone (not singling anyone out....) was cranky....
Brecker learned how to roll over yesterday, and is starting to become so incredibly mobile!! I was shocked, because (I'm a bad mom) we never really do "tummy time'. So out of curiosity, yesterday I made him lie on his stomach on the floor. He pushes himself WAY up, and starts to wiggle, almost like he's trying to army crawl!! He then proceeded to roll over!! I was sure it was a fluke, so I put him back on his tummy, but he did it again and again. I'm so proud of my little stinker. Riley wasn't rolling over until 5 months old, so you can imagine my surprise!!

Well... I've rambled long enough. I feel like I've got my "adult conversation" in for the day =) (which is probably a good thing, because Shaun has a biochem test this evening, and won't be home until late). Oh well. Thanks for letting me ramble, dear blogging network!!

You know, I've lived here for five and a half years and you still know all of these secrets that I don't! Daycare at the gym??? Which gym? I've really been wanting to work out but since it's gotten cold I've been "stuck" inside with Brennen and I can feel myself getting fatter. :) And I enjoyed your post. I agree that blogging was invented by stay at home moms. :)

I think tummy time is silly. I know tons of people who don't give their kids tummy time who learn to roll over just fine. Also, you have lame excuses for not having adult conversation. You have a telephone. As do I. Call me.

Also, I cannot believe how adorably fat Brecker is. And I miss Riley and his cuteness. I'm sure I would miss Brecker too if I knew him more.

Lol... Melissa, the Rec. center does daycare on MWF for kids, and it's SO nice, I love it.

Katie... you're right. I need to call =) I'm lame. Have you guys talked any more about UWYO?
